Ministry Issues Six Road Traffic Notices

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment has issued six road traffic notices.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the motoring public of several upcoming road traffic changes and works across the Island. These include scheduled maintenance, trench works, and a special event-related closure.

Frog Lane – Northbound Lane Closure for FIFA World Cup Event [PDF]

“On Friday, 5 September 2025, a northbound lane closure will be in effect on Frog Lane, Devonshire, from Montpelier Road to Devon Lane.

“The closure will support the Bermuda Football Association’s FIFA World Cup event at the National Sports Centre, Flora Duffy Field, taking place from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Northbound traffic will be detoured via Parsons Road or to event parking areas.

Hermitage Road – Lane Closure for Manhole Repairs [PDF]

“Hermitage Road, near Hillsdale in Smith’s Parish, will undergo a single lane closure on Friday, 5 September 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to accommodate manhole repair works. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Frog Lane – Daytime Lane Closure for Light Fixture Repairs [PDF]

“From Wednesday, 3 September through Friday, 5 September 2025, the northbound lane on Frog Lane [Montpelier Road to Devon Lane] will be closed between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day for light fixture repairs at the National Sports Centre. Detours will be in place via Parsons Road or Palmetto Road.

Mullet Bay Road – Trench Work Lane Closure [PDF]

“Trench work will require a lane closure on Mullet Bay Road in St. George’s Parish from Friday, 12 September to Saturday, 13 September 2025. Works will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Motorists are advised to follow all posted signage and traffic controls.

Pitts Bay Road – Trench Work Lane Closure [PDF]

“Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke Parish will have a lane closure from Wednesday, 10 September to Thursday, 11 September 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Detours will be available via Woodbourne Avenue and Rosemont Avenue.

Harbour Road – Emergency Closure Update [PDF]

“As an update to the earlier public advisory, Harbour Road remains closed between Chapel Lane and Lover’s Lane in Paget Parish to facilitate emergency BELCO pole repairs.

“Eastbound traffic is diverted via Chapel Lane to Middle Road. Westbound traffic is diverted via Lover’s Lane. This closure began Thursday, 4 September 2025, and remains in effect until further notice. Delays are expected, particularly near the Paget traffic light.

“Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternative routes where possible, and follow all traffic control measures in place.”
