Nathan Trott Selected As Top Goalkeeper
Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott has been ranked as the best goalkeeper in the Sky Bet League One in recognition of his impressive performances for Cardiff City.
An article on the Football League World website said Trott has “already shown that he is by far and away the best goalkeeper at the level.”
The 26-year-old joined the Welsh side on a season-long loan from Danish outfit FC Copenhagen at the start of the season.
“With only one goal conceded inside the opening six league games in the Welsh capital, he has helped the Bluebirds maintain an incredible defensive record with the number of goals he’s prevented and the saves he’s made,” the article read.
“The former West Ham United youth prodigy played in the Uefa Conference League last season with Copenhagen, and you can see why through the early stages of his Cardiff career.
“Brian Barry-Murphy’s side have an option to make his loan from the Danish permanent if they secure promotion, so there’s even more of a reason to get back into the Championship at the first time of asking, to keep the league’s best goalkeeper in their ranks.”
Trott has previously had stints at Danish second-tier side Vejle, AFC Wimbledon in League One and French side AS Nancy Lorraine in Ligue 2.
