Tucker & Barnett Earn NORCECA Beach Victory
Bermudian beach volleyball players Sean Tucker and Benjamin Barnett concluded the second day of the 9th stage of the North America, Central America, and the Caribbean [NORCECA] Beach Volleyball Tour with a victory to secure a shot at a top ten finish.
The Bermudian duo’s day began with a Pool B match against the Dominican Republic’s Melvin Antonio de Jesus and Albino Ramon Francisco De Jesus. The Bermudians were defeated in straight sets, 21-13, 21-17, in a 28-minute match. The loss placed them in the 9th–12th place bracket of the knockout rounds.
Facing Jared Brown and Cole Sommer from the British Virgin Islands in the 9th–12th place play-off, Tucker and Barnett secured a two-set victory in 31 minutes. The Bermudians won the first set 21-12 and the second set 23-21.
