Bermuda Golfers Competing In CGA In Jamaica
Bermudian golfers have established a strong presence at the Caribbean Golf Association [CGA] 4-Ball Championship in Jamaica, with several teams positioned at or near the top of their respective leaderboards after the first round.
In the Ladies 45+ Division, the team of Tracy Burgess and Ann Symonds leads the field after a first-round score of 1-over-par 73. Their performance gives them a four-stroke lead over second-place Jamaica, who finished at 5-over-par. The Cayman Islands are in third at 12-over-par.
The Men’s 70+ Division sees a tie for first place, with Bermuda’s Quinton Sherlock Sr and Hav Trott carding an even-par 72. They are tied with a team from Jamaica, while the Bahamas is one stroke behind.
Mark Ray and Roger Brangman of Bermuda are in a three-way tie for second place in the Seniors Division. The pair finished two strokes behind leaders Barbados, who posted a 3-under-par 69. Ray and Brangman are level with teams from Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.
In the Ladies 25+ Division, the Bermudian team of Morgan Lightbourne and Sarah Dwyer is in third place at 9-over-par. Jamaica leads this division at 4-over-par, with Trinidad and Tobago one stroke behind.
The Mid Amateurs category saw Richard Marriott and Jonathan James finish their first round at 8-over-par 80, placing them in seventh. Trinidad and Tobago leads this division at 5-under-par, followed by the Cayman Islands at 1-under-par, and Jamaica B at even par.
