Karting Championship Race Day #3 Results
The Bermuda Karting Association hosted a thrilling three-heat event as part of the Bermuda Rubis Energy Karting Championship, featuring close finishes and standout performances across all classes.
A spokesperson said, “L206 Class: Heat 1 saw #84 Owen DeCosta lead most of the race before #91 Jason ‘Skuzzie’ North snatched the win on the final lap. Heat 2 was a tight pack with #91, #84, #6 [David Barbosa], and #95 [Robert Wheatley] battling at the front, while others waited to pounce. Heat 3 delivered the race of the day, as #91 and #84 crossed the finish just 0.021 seconds apart.
“Tag Senior: #518 Ryan Burgess dominated with three straight wins. #84 Nathan DeCosta and #24 Blake Horseman traded podium spots, while #34 Jorja Thomas and #159 Jonah Moniz rounded out the top five.
“Tag Junior: #92 Tanner Correia and #12 Alondro Albouy secured first and second overall, with #81 Jonathan Linberg and #30 Syah Pedro closely contesting third. Drivers ended with a respectful touch, showing great sportsmanship.
“Cadet Class: Strong performances from the club’s youngest racers #92 Tanner Correia, #112 Jacob Garrett and #301 Leo Serrano impressed onlookers and hinted at future stars.
“Shifter [KZ & KZ Masters]: With 12 high-speed karts on track, the combined KZ and KZ Masters classes produced thrilling battles throughout the day. KZ – #24 Blake Horseman dominated Heat 1, closely chased by #18 Ryan Burgess and #3 Ryan Rebello. Heat 2 saw #18 and #24 locked in a tight duel, showcasing top-tier skill. In the final heat, #18, #51 [Stephen Corrado], and #24 finished in a tight pack after an intense fight. In KZ Masters, the podium shifted each race: #14 Rian Lindo [Heat 1], #53 Jason DeCouto [Heat 2], and #52 Philip Correia [Heat 3] each claimed a win, highlighting the class’s fierce competitiveness.”
