Chloe McBrearty Wins U14 Tennis In Tampa
Bermuda tennis player Chloe McBrearty secured the championship title in the Under 14 division at the USTA, Level 6: Halloween Howler tournament in Tampa, Florida.
McBrearty, 12, is currently ranked No. 1 in Bermuda for both the Girls Under 12 and Under 14 divisions, but she opted to compete exclusively in the older Under 14 category during the event.
The final match proved challenging for the Bermudian athlete, ultimately requiring a decisive tie-break to determine the winner. McBrearty lost the first set by a score of 6-4. She rebounded in the second set, dominating her opponent to win 6-1 and force a 10-point tie-break. She then edged out her older opponent in the extended tie-break, claiming the victory 14-12 to complete the comeback and win the tournament.
