Hockey: Spine & Sport Defeat Mosher 7–6
The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League season began with Spine & Sport edging Alexandra Mosher 7–6 in an overtime thriller.
Alexandra Mosher started strongly in the first period, taking an early lead through Eddie Goddard before Ian Beaudoin doubled their advantage. Spine & Sport responded when Jake Fenske found the net to cut the deficit.
In the second period, Beaudoin scored his second goal for Alexandra Mosher, but Ryan Bates replied for Spine & Sport to keep the score close at 3–2 heading into the final frame.
The third period produced a flurry of goals. Goddard extended Mosher’s lead to 4–2 with his second of the night, before Kris Abramowski scored twice for Spine & Sport to tie the game. Beaudoin completed his hat-trick to make it 5–3, Johnny Talbot scored to level the match at 5–5, and Fenske added his second goal to give Spine & Sport their first lead at 6–5. Dave Macphee quickly responded for Alexandra Mosher, tying the score at 6–6 and forcing overtime.
In sudden death, Abramowski netted his third goal of the night to secure the victory for Spine & Sport, completing the hat-trick and sealing an exciting opening to Bermuda’s Winter League season.
