Junior Badminton Team To Compete In Canada
The Bermuda Junior Badminton Team will compete in the Victor Junior Ontario Tournament at the PanAm Centre in Canada, from October 23 to 26.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Junior Badminton team are competing at the prestigious PanAm Centre in Markham, Ontario, Canada from the 23-26 October in the Victor Junior Ontario Tournament. This is a huge tournament with 468 entries from Canada and overseas.
“The team players have been training with coaches Emma Moran-Lee and Aaron Simmons [who both represent Bermuda and are the countries #1 singles players]. For the past three years the coaches have been building up to this tournament at the Bermuda Junior Badminton Coaching sessions that are held at Somersfield Academy throughout the year. Players are ranked as #1 or 2 for their age group singles and/or doubles.
“This is the first overseas trip for the junior players and the team plan on traveling to the Caribbean next. Badminton in Bermuda is growing and the coaches are committed to developing our youth.”
