Jarryd Dillas Chasing Tour Qualifying Spot

Jarryd Dillas will be hoping to qualify for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship for a third time when he competes in the Local Qualifier at Port Royal Golf Course tomorrow [October 7].
Dillas will be among the island’s top golfers aiming to claim one of three coveted exemption spots into Bermuda’s flagship PGA Tour event at the 36-hole qualifier.
The 40-year-old said he was approaching the event with a mix of anticipation and realism.
“I’m looking forward to teeing off in the qualifier tomorrow,” Dillas told Bernews.
“My game’s been a bit hit or miss over the past few weeks, so I’ve got no real expectations for the two days.
“That being said, golf is a funny old game, and you just never know when it’s going to click for you.”
Dillas is scheduled to tee off at 8.10am alongside Matthew Roberts and Jamie MacMillan, joining a strong field of Bermudian professionals, amateurs and other local players who meet the eligibility requirements.
“It looks to be a strong field, so I’ll need to play some good golf to put myself in contention for one of the three qualifying spots come Wednesday afternoon,” said Dillas, who represented Bermuda at the International Island Games in Orkney, Scotland, last summer.
“As always, a huge thank you has to go to Danielle [Carrera], Jevon [Roberts], and the entire Butterfield Bermuda Championship team for making this opportunity possible.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to qualify for the Tour event on two previous occasions, and both times it was an incredibly fun and rewarding experience.
“And like everyone in the field this week, I would love nothing more than to be inside the ropes again next month for the 2025 tournament.”
Last year’s qualifiers Camiko Smith, Eric West, and Nick Jones are also among the field.
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is scheduled to run from November 13 to 16 at Port Royal.
