Vasco, Rangers, Trojans, Paget & Colts Win

Vasco, Southampton Rangers, Somerset Trojans, Paget Lions, and Devonshire Colts all claimed wins in this weekend’s football  action, while some of the other weekend matches ended in a draw.

First Division

Hamilton Parish 0 Vasco 6

Vasco secured the most dominant performance of the weekend, defeating Hamilton Parish 6-0 at the Wellington Oval.

Kevin Arruda initiated the scoring in the 17th minute, followed by Lucus Da Silva in the 27th minute to establish a 2-0 lead at the break. The goals continued in the second half with Milton Carreiro finding the net in the 50th minute, Ludgero Araujo in the 52nd minute, and Kyshon Burgess in the 76th minute. Da Silva completed the rout and secured his brace with a goal in the 80th minute.

Wolves 1 Southampton Rangers 4

Southampton Rangers maintained their undefeated record in the First Division with a 4-1 victory over Wolves at Bernard Park.

Jahni Bean put the Rangers ahead in the 14th minute. Wolves briefly equalised through Antonio Wade in the 25th minute. However, the Rangers pulled away in the second half with goals from Ellington Weldon in the 55th minute, Dominique Hill in the 63rd minute, and Donte Brangman on full time to secure the three points.

Somerset Eagles 1 Somerset Trojans 3

The Somerset Trojans defeated their local rivals Somerset Eagles 3-1 at the White Hill Field. Jaire Shields gave the Trojans a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute, which they carried into halftime.

Zico Saltus Seymour quickly equalised for the Eagles in the 47th minute. The Trojans secured the win with subsequent goals from Kee Zai Cann in the 67th minute and Jadan Ratteray Smith in the 74th minute.

Premier Division

St. George’s Colts 1 Paget Lions 2

The Paget Lions secured a 2-1 victory away against the St. George’s Colts at the Wellington Oval. The Lions secured the win via single strikes from Diaje Hart and Antinori Butterfield. Jahron Dickinson scored the lone goal for the Colts.

North Village Rams 1 X-Road’s 1

Defending Premier Division champions North Village Rams were held to a 1-1 draw by X-Road’s at Bernard Park. Jonte Smith gave the Rams the lead in the 24th minute, which they maintained until half-time. Kahmori Brangman levelled the score for X-Road’s in the 70th minute. Neither team was able to find a winner.

Devonshire Colts 3 Devonshire Cougars 2

The Devonshire Colts won a thrilling, high-scoring match against local rivals Devonshire Cougars, edging the match 3-2 at the Police Field.

The Cougars struck first through Llineiko Millett in the 17th minute. The dynamics of the game shifted when the Cougars were reduced to 10 men in the 38th minute. Daniel Ball quickly levelled for the Colts in the 40th minute, before Elisha Darrell scored against his former club a minute into stoppage time to give the Colts a 2-1 lead at the break.

The Cougars equalised late when Mosiais Mills scored in the 86th minute. However, Jorj Dublin netted the winning goal for the Colts just three minutes later.

Boulevard Blazers 2 Young Men Social Club 2

The Boulevard Blazers and Young Men Social Club match played out a 2-2 draw at the Devonshire Recreation Club.

Clay Darrell put Social Club ahead in the 23rd minute. The Blazers then took the lead in the second half with goals from Shaquille Dill in the 50th minute and Nico Smith in the 77th minute. An own goal by a Boulevard Blazers player in stoppage time resulted in the points being shared.
