Cricket: BCB Announces New Executive Team
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced the results of its Annual General Meeting [AGM], which took place on 26 November 2025.
A spokesperson said, “The meeting marked a significant milestone for the organization as it unveiled its newly elected executive team and shared exciting news about Bermuda’s growing presence on the international cricket stage.
Newly Elected Executive Members
- Mr. David Horan [Warwick Workman’s Club] – 1st Vice President, elected until 2028
- Mr. Steven Douglas Snr – 2nd Vice President, elected until 2027
- Ms. Dawn Simmons – Secretary, returning for a term until 2028
- Club Representatives:
- Ms. Ceble Crockwell
- Mr. Jon Carey
- Mr. Najee Musson
- [All serving until November 2026]
“President Lloyd Smith expressed his enthusiasm for the newly formed team, which includes incumbent Treasurer Ms. Tracey Pitt, and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to advancing cricket in Bermuda. The executive continues to be supported by Executive Director Calvin Blankendal and Head of Administration Ms. Samantha Robinson, ensuring strong operational leadership.
Strategic Focus and International Success
“The AGM highlighted the BCB’s new Business Development direction, aimed at enhancing commercial partnerships and growing the sport across all levels. In addition, the Board proudly announced that Bermuda has been awarded hosting rights for the North American Cricket Cup in 2027 and 2028, securing three consecutive years of international tournaments on the island. This achievement underscores Bermuda’s reputation as a premier cricket destination and promises significant economic and sporting benefits for the community.
Youth Cricket and Inclusiveness
“The AGM discussed the continues efforts to foster greater collaboration and inclusiveness across schools, clubs, and community initiatives.
“Additionally, discussions were facilitated to renew effort to stimulate the growth of girls’ and women’s cricket at the grassroots level, with targeted programs designed to increase participation and provide equal opportunities for female players to thrive.”
President Smith stated: “We are excited about the future of cricket in Bermuda. With a dynamic executive team and major international events on the horizon, we are well-positioned to elevate the game and create lasting opportunities for our players, clubs, and fans.”
1st VP David Horan said: “It’s an honour to join the Bermuda Cricket Board in this leadership role. I look forward to working closely with our clubs and schools to create greater synergy between grassroots cricket and education. By strengthening these connections, we can inspire the next generation of players and ensure cricket remains a vibrant part of Bermuda’s sporting culture.”
2nd Vice President, Mr. Steven Douglas Snr said: “Elevating to the role of 2nd Vice President is a privilege that allows me to offer my experience as a high-level cricket umpire, executive event manager, and community advocate. My goal is to strengthen governance, enhance event delivery, and ensure that cricket continues to unite communities across Bermuda.”
