Field Hockey: Knights & Griffins Win
A triple-header of Bermuda Field Hockey action took place at the National Sports Centre, featuring three matches with multiple hat-tricks.
Knights 4 Hurricanes 2
The Knights defeated the Hurricanes 4-2 in the opening game, led by a hat-trick from Hemijah Bean.
The Hurricanes opened the scoring in the seventeenth minute with a penalty stroke converted by Tyler Smith. Bean equalized for the Knights, also from a penalty stroke, just before halftime.
Bean scored his second two minutes into the second half from a penalty corner, and Alan Gilbertson extended the lead to 3-1 with a field goal in the thirty-fourth minute. Marte DeSouza pulled one back for the Hurricanes, scoring from a penalty corner in the forty-ninth minute to make it 3-2.
Bean completed his hat-trick in the fifty-sixth minute, scoring again from a penalty corner to secure the 4-2 victory.
Ravens 1 Budgies 1
The second match between the Ravens and the Budgies ended in a 1-1 draw.
Antoinette Rabain gave the Ravens a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute with a field goal, which held until halftime. The Budgies found an equalizer in the forty-fourth minute when Tse Smith converted a penalty corner.
Pink Robins 0 Griffins 4
The Griffins secured a 4-0 shutout victory over the Pink Robins in the final match of the day.
Isaac Davis scored a hat-trick for the Griffins. He opened the scoring with a field goal in the fourteenth minute and added a second from a penalty corner six minutes later. Owen Curley made it 3-0 with a field goal in the twenty-seventh minute.
Davis completed his hat-trick in the thirty-third minute, converting another penalty corner for the only goal of the second half.
