Mirrors Programme Launch ‘Statement Fridays’
The Mirrors Programme is offering free “Statement Fridays” workshops to help students craft strong personal statements for college, scholarships, and advanced study applications.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Mirrors Programme invites students aged 15 and up who are applying for college, scholarships, and other advanced studies to sign up for Statement Fridays. This two-session workshop is designed to help students craft compelling and authentic personal statements that strengthen their applications.”
Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors Tinee Furbert praised the workshop, stating, “The Mirrors Programme continues to play a vital role in empowering Bermuda’s young people to reach their full potential. Initiatives like Statement Fridays give students the confidence and tools they need to tell their unique stories and pursue higher education with purpose.”
Letitia Washington, Prevention Services Coordinator at The Mirrors Programme, added, “As part of the PeerForward college and career readiness programme, we offer personal statement development workshops. Following the resounding success participants have experienced, we have decided to extend the programme to the wider student community. Our goal is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to put their best foot forward in their applications.”
The Government spokesperson said, “There are four upcoming cohort sessions, beginning Friday, November 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Participation in this programme is free.
