‘Rockin’ Around The City Tree’ Set For Nov 28th
The City of Hamilton will host the ‘Rockin’ Around the City Tree’ Event on Friday, November 28th, with this year’s event set to feature a fireworks display
A spokesperson said, “Kick off the Christmas season with a bang as the City of Hamilton and charitable partner Tomorrow’s Voices present Rockin’ Around the City Tree, this year featuring fireworks for the very first time!
“Join us at City Hall on Friday, November 28th from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM for the lighting of the brand-new City Christmas Tree [the tallest in Bermuda!], dazzling this year with all-new Bermuda-themed decorations that celebrate our island’s unique holiday spirit.
“This free, family-friendly event promises an unforgettable evening of live performances, festive cheer, complimentary hot chocolate, and photos with Santa Claus as he makes his first official appearance of the season! And when the lights switch on, look to the sky, because for the first time ever, the celebration will include a spectacular fireworks display!
“Warm up with free hot chocolate from Ashley’s Lemonade and enjoy a lineup of high-energy entertainment on the City Hall lawn that’s sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Our partner, Tomorrow’s Voices will be on hand selling light-up toys to raise funds for the autism charity.
“Ahamani’s Cookies will be on-site with sweet treats for sale, and guests can capture all the magic with a professional photo with Santa. Each photo comes with a complimentary print in a holiday magnet frame [with a removable calendar] – a keepsake to treasure all season long. There will also be performances by Bermy Bouncers, Aalai, DanceSations, Sui Generis Dance Studio & Sia Spence.”
“The lighting of the City Hall Christmas Tree has become a cherished holiday tradition,” said Lorna Hayward, the City’s Senior Events Coordinator. “It’s a joyful evening that brings families and friends together to celebrate the season, and this year’s fireworks will make it more spectacular than ever!”
The spokesperson said, “The new tree was designed in collaboration with Gibbons Company, whose CEO Tony Thompson approached the City last year with the idea for a fresh design featuring custom Bermuda-themed decorations.
“The City encourages attendees to make a night of it by enjoying dinner at a City restaurant or starting your holiday shopping before joining the festivities.
“In the spirit of giving, guests are invited to support Tomorrow’s Voices – Bermuda Autism Early Intervention Centre, the City’s long-time charitable partner for this event. Tomorrow’s Voices has provided essential therapy and developmental services to children and families since 2007.”
Stacy Hill, Funding & Development Officer at Tomorrow’s Voices, shared, “Partnering with the City for this special event gives us a chance to not only raise funds but to raise awareness about autism while celebrating the warmth and generosity of the season. We’re so grateful to be part of such a beloved community tradition.”
