Alpha Kappa Alpha Donate To Seniors Homes
This holiday season, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Sigma Xi Omega Chapter shared the spirit of giving by donating care packages to residents at two senior residence homes in the community: Matilda Smith Senior Residents and Lefroy House Care Community.
A spokesperson said, “A total of 49 residents received thoughtfully prepared care packages containing essential personal care items, including toothpaste, lotion, soap, and a toothbrush. The initiative reflects the chapter’s continued commitment to service, compassion, and honoring those who have helped shape Bermuda’s community.
“This initiative is especially meaningful as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Sigma Xi Omega Chapter celebrates 35 years of service to all mankind in the Bermuda community. For more than three decades, the chapter has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift, empower, and serve through impactful programs and community partnerships across the island.”
“Our seniors are the cornerstone of our island,” said Necheeka L. Trott, President of the Sigma Xi Omega Chapter. “Through their wisdom, sacrifice, and resilience, they have paved the way for generations to come. This initiative is filled with gratitude and respect for the legacy they continue to inspire. It was truly an honour to share the holiday spirit with them.”
