Ariel Re Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Ariel Re celebrates 20 years in business this month, marking two decades of catastrophe reinsurance expertise and launching its “20 for 20” community charity initiative.
A spokesperson said, “Ariel Re, a global reinsurance business with offices in Bermuda, London and Hong Kong, celebrates 20 years in business this month.
“Ariel Re was formed in December 2005 to meet a high demand for natural catastrophe reinsurance after a capital crunch in the sector following Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
“The company provides reinsurance solutions across Property Catastrophe, Cyber, Marine & Specialty, and Clean Energy, employing a team of over 100 professionals.
“Established as a Class 4 Bermuda reinsurer, the business transitioned to Lloyd’s of London in 2012. Today, Ariel Re writes $1.5 billion in premium annually, with the majority of business transacted in Bermuda.”
“I am incredibly proud of the team at Ariel Re, many of whom have been with us since day one 20 years ago, our success is a tribute to them,” said Ariel Re Chief Executive Officer Ryan Mather.
“It is a great achievement that 20 years on from our foundation, we are still at the forefront of the catastrophe reinsurance market and have built such a resilient franchise.
“Our commitment to a deep understanding of our clients and the risks that we underwrite has been key to our success. Looking ahead, Ariel Re remains focused on delivering specialist reinsurance solutions while continuing its mission to be ‘The Premier Manager of Reinsurance Risk’.”
A spokesperson added, “To commemorate this milestone, Ariel Re is launching its “20 for 20” campaign, an initiative designed to give back to the communities that have supported the company’s journey. Through this programme, Ariel Re will contribute to 20 charities and worthy causes across Bermuda and London, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and positive impact.”
