Bermuda Athletes In Regional Rankings
Several Bermudian athletes have earned places in the final North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association outdoor rankings for the year.
Olympian Jah-Nhai Perinchief finishes the season eighth in the men’s triple jump. He produced a best of 16.95 metres in Memphis in July.
Bermuda’s middle-distance athletes also posted competitive results on the British and United States circuits.
Nairobi Smith-Mills ranks nineteenth in the men’s 800 after a personal-best of 1min 47.67sec in Stretford, Manchester.
Dage Minors is seventeenth in the 1,500 metres with a best time of 3:47.35.
Ryan Outerbridge is listed in two events, placing nineteenth in the 3,000 steeplechase and 28th in the 5,000 after a strong campaign at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
Lamont Marshall sits 25th in the 10,000 after his 31:14.83 at a meet in New Jersey.
In the sprints, Bermuda’s men’s 4×100 team of Denver Tucker, Norre Robinson, Miles Outerbridge and Suresh Black are ranked 22nd after running 40.41 in Barbados.
Caitlyn Bobb leads the island’s women’s contingent, ranked eighteenth in the 400. She set a national record of 51.11 at the ACC Championships in North Carolina in May.
In the women’s middle distances, Shayla Cann is 24th in the 800 with a personal-best 2:07.89 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
High jumper Sakari Famous is ranked eleventh after clearing a national record 1.85 at the Horned Frog Invitational in Texas.
Discus thrower Tiara DeRosa ends the year 21st in the region with her national record 50.07 at the National Sports Centre in June.
Warwick Academy student Tatiana Sousa is sixth in the under-17 javelin after throwing 42.92, also at the National Sports Centre in June.
