Boxer Tyler Christopher believes his rising profile is making potential opponents wary as he prepares to face journeyman Jensen Irving at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham, England, on Sunday, [December 7].
The southpaw, who boasts a perfect record in ten professional bouts, will meet 35-year-old Irving [5-31-2] in a four-round middleweight contest.
Christopher said he is brimming with confidence after a statement win over Jordan Grannum in March, when he dropped the experienced opponent twice in what he called the most impressive display of his career.

“I’ve been filled with confidence since my last fight,” Christopher told Bernews. “It feels weird to be this confident.
“My manager [Jon Pegg] says fighters are avoiding me. He had a hard time finding an opponent for me on Sunday.
“People aren’t knocking on my door for me to fight them. I’m a high-risk, low-reward opponent.”
The 29-year-old said he hopes to deliver another emphatic performance against Irving, who has only been stopped once in his career.
“He’s a tough journeyman,” said Christopher, who trains at the D&A Boxing School of Excellence in Stirchley, Birmingham.
“He goes in there to have a go. I’m going to handle business on Sunday.
“If I can stop him, it will shake Britain. That’s what I’m going for.”
As for his ultimate ambition in boxing, Christopher said he dreams of a high-profile bout back home in Bermuda.
“I want a mega fight in Bermuda, maybe at the National Stadium,” he added.
Christopher is sponsored by Woi, Flower Wall Bermuda, Flash Eye and Mellow’s Catering.
