Volleyball Teams Compete In Florida Challenge
The Bermuda Volleyball Association [BVA] experienced mixed results on the opening day of the 2025 Nike Florida Holiday Challenge Volleyball Tournament. The competition in Daytona Beach, Florida, saw the Bermudian 15 & Under team secure two victories, while the 17 & Under side recorded two narrow defeats.
The Paradise Hitters Volleyball Club [PHVC] 15 & Under team commenced their tournament run with a three-set victory over Peak 15U Black. After losing the first set 25-17, the Bermudian squad rallied to win the second set 25-15, and clinched the deciding third set 15-9.
The 15 & Under team sustained their winning form in their second match, sweeping AAC 15 Elite 2-0. They secured the first set 25-18 and won a close second set 26-24 to complete the straight-sets victory.
The Paradise Hitters Volleyball Club 17 & Under team faced immediate challenges, suffering consecutive 2-1 defeats on the day.
In their initial match against WGVC 17 Elite Purple, the Bermudian team lost 2-1. WGVC took the first set 25-10, but the PHVC 17 & Under team rebounded to win the second set 25-23, before ultimately falling 15-8 in the tie-breaker third set.
The second match for the 17 & Under squad was another three-set contest, resulting in a 2-1 loss to Black Creek VBC 17. The Paradise Hitters took the closely contested first set 26-24. However, they were unable to hold the advantage, dropping the second set 27-25. Black Creek VBC secured the final set 15-2 to take the match.
