BFA Names Squad For Concacaf U17 Qualifiers
The Bermuda Football Association announced the Bermuda U17 Women’s National Team that will represent the island at the Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers, which will be hosted in Bermuda later this month.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] is delighted to announce the team that will represent Bermuda in the Concacaf W Qualifiers that will be held here in Bermuda at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium. Our Lady Gombey Warriors will match up against Suriname, Bonaire, and Panama. The Bermuda U17 Women’s National Team Roster is.

“Head Coach Gary Ray had this to say about playing in Group B on home soil: I am very excited and look forward to leading this group through the first round of World Cup Qualifiers. The team has a good balance of Local and overseas-based players, with many returning players having experience playing in last year’s Concacaf Championship round. The new structure, which sees an under-17 World Cup every year, is both challenging and exciting.
“We are looking forward to representing our country at home and aim to repeat our success of qualifying for the Championship Round with the ultimate goal of the World Cup later this year in Morocco.
“Our Lady Gombey Warriors were drawn in Group B with Suriname, Bonaire, Panama, and St. Kitts and Nevis. However, St Kitts and Nevis have withdrawn from the competition, which leaves Group B with four teams. The new schedule of matches at the Flora Duffy Southfield Stadium is as follows:
January 24

- 7pm: Bermuda vs Suriname
January 26
- 2pm: Suriname vs Panama
- 7pm: Bonaire vs Bermuda
