Commissioner Applauds Community Search Effort
Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons praised members of the Bermuda community and local media for their swift cooperation in assisting police during yesterday’s [January 7] search for an 8-year-old boy in Sandys Parish.
Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons said, “It is important to comment and commend the way several members of our Bermuda community, as well as members of the local media, came together to assist police officers in searching for the 8-year-old boy, Wednesday evening [7th January 2026], in Sandys parish.
“The spirit of care and cooperation shown embodied Bermuda at its best; where people from diverse backgrounds quickly unite to help, because it is the right thing to do.
“To everyone that participated in Wednesday evening’s Somerset area search, including my Bermuda Police Service colleagues; I share a sincere thank you.
“Your willingness to actively be a part of the solution demonstrated the power of our community’s resolve to support each other.”
