Ball Hockey: Alexandra Mosher & CG Win
Bermuda’s ball hockey league returned to action at the PCC Hockey Rink this week after a series of weather-related cancellations, producing 20 goals across a double-header.
Positive Image Dental 5 Alexandra Mosher 6
The opening game saw Alexandra Mosher edge Positive Image Dental 6-5 in an 11-goal contest that remained close throughout.
Positive Image Dental took early goals from Kyle Harvey and Jordan Gunter in the first period, while Alexandra Mosher responded through Adam Mattatall and Chris Hodgson to leave the teams level.
In the second period, Chris Allington restored the lead for Positive Image Dental before Alexandra Mosher answered with goals from Matt McPhail and Mike Brennan to move in front.
The third period featured four more goals. Josh Prodger scored twice for Positive Image Dental, but Mattatall added his second of the night and Brennan netted the winner as Alexandra Mosher secured the 6-5 result.
ACT 4 CG 5
In the second game, CG defeated ACT 5-4.
Andrew Leavy opened the scoring for CG in the first period before ACT’s Noah Vieira equalized.
ACT moved ahead in the second period with goals from Randy Elgersma and Shane Matchett, while Dallas Montgomery scored for CG to keep the deficit to one.
CG completed the comeback in the final period. Montgomery scored his second goal of the game, and Nathan Kowalski and Leavy each added goals to give CG the lead. ACT’s Bruce Jackson scored late, but CG held on to seal the 5-4 victory.
