Skye Furbert Wins Gold In Long Jump
Skye Furbert claimed gold in the girls’ 9-10 long jump at the PVA 14 & Under National Age-Group Invitational in Landover, Maryland, yesterday [February 14].
Representing the Bermuda Pacers Track Club, Furbert recorded a winning leap of 3.57 metres. Team-mate Diamond Morris finished fifth with 3.24.
Furbert also advanced to the 200 metres final after placing ninth in the preliminary round in 31.87sec. Giselle Reid-Rubaine finished nineteenth in 32.47.
In the girls’ 13-14 Division, Amaya Davis placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 4.60. She also finished 33rd in the 200 preliminaries in 28.22.
Team-mates Mylah DeSilva and Ava St Luce completed the 13-14 sprint field, finishing 39th and 73rd respectively.
