Ship Diverts To Bermuda For Injured Crew
The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] coordinated the emergency diversion of the M/V Al Manamah to evacuate an injured crew member for hospital treatment.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “Wednesday, 18th February 2026, 12:08pm. Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre / RCC Bermuda received a Satellite Telephone call from the captain onboard the Liberian Registered 75,579grt Container Ship M/V Al Manamah, advising they wished to divert to Bermuda at best speed, to transfer a Filipino crew member who had suffered a serious hand injury, causing a partially severed finger.
“The vessel was on passage from Norfolk, USA and was bound for Antwerp, Belgium. The vessel arrived offshore in Bermuda Waters on Thursday 19th February at 06:30am, the 26-year-old Filipino Crew Member was safely transferred to Ordnance Island by the Pilot/Rescue Boat St George, and subsequently taken by ambulance to KEMH for medical treatment.”
