Hornets, St. George’s, Devonshire & Rangers Win
Bermuda football saw competitive action in both the Premier and First Divisions this weekend, with Dandy Town Hornets, St. George’s Colts, Devonshire Colts, and Southampton Rangers recording wins.
Premier Division
North Village Rams 2 Dandy Town Hornets 3
The Dandy Town Hornets moved back to the top of the Premier Division with a 3–2 win over North Village Rams at Bernard Park. David Jones scored all three goals for the Hornets, including the decisive strike in stoppage time.
Jones opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, giving Dandy Town a 1–0 lead at half-time. North Village responded immediately after the break, with Jai Bean equalising in the 46th minute and converting a penalty shortly after to take a 2–1 lead. Jones scored again in the 59th minute to level the match, before completing his hat-trick in stoppage time to secure the win.
St. George’s Colts 2 Young Men Social Club 1
St. George’s Colts recorded a 2–1 comeback win over Young Men’s Social Club at Wellington Oval, easing relegation concerns. Kimshum Smith gave Young Men a first-half stoppage-time lead. Blaiz Hall equalised in the 76th minute, and Kashe Hall scored in stoppage time to complete the turnaround.
Devonshire Colts 5 X-Roads 1
Devonshire Colts strengthened their title challenge with a 5–1 win over X-Roads at Police Field. Elisha Darrell scored first for the Colts, followed by two goals each from Senoj Mitchell and Chermal Henry. Donovan Thompson scored X-Roads’ lone goal. Devonshire Colts missed a penalty just before half-time but maintained control throughout the match.
First Division
Southampton Rangers 2 Vasco 1
Southampton Rangers won 2–1 against Vasco at Southampton Oval. Malachi Jones gave the Rangers an early lead. Kevin Arruda equalised on the hour, but Donte Brangman scored in the 88th minute to secure the victory for Southampton Rangers.
Wolves 0 St. David’s 0
Wolves and St. David’s played to a 0–0 draw at Devonshire Recreation Club. Both teams were unable to convert opportunities, resulting in a scoreless match.
