AJ Dill Claims Stoppage Victory In UK
Mixed martial artist AJ Dill produced a devastating display on his welterweight debut, stopping James Kirby inside the opening round at the Wolkernite Fight Championships in Nottingham, England.
Competing at 77kg for the first time, Dill needed just 90 seconds to seal victory, extending his record to four wins and two losses in kickboxing, to go with a professional boxing mark of one win and one draw.
The move down to the welterweight division presented a new challenge for Dill, who has typically fought at a higher weight class.
Dill floored Kirby with a sharp left hook followed by a powerful right hand, sending the Englishman to the canvas. Although Kirby attempted to rise, the referee waved off the contest.
The win preserves Dill’s perfect finishing record, with all four of his victories coming within the first two rounds.
