Tiara DeRosa Breaks National Discus Record
Tiara DeRosa broke the national discus record three times during a Bermuda National Athletics Association meet at the Flora Duffy Stadium at the weekend.
DeRosa opened with a throw of 50.64 metres to surpass her previous record before extending it to 51.03 in the third round.
The thrower, who set a 50.07 mark last June to qualify for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, this summer, also recorded efforts of 45.95 and 50.21.
“A great milestone and a reflection of continued hard work and dedication,” read a BNAA social media post.
DeRosa placed eleventh with a best throw of 45.79 at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.
