Cal Simons Hails Success Of Magic Mile
Cal Simons has hailed the success of the recent Skyport Magic Mile, powered by the Pacers Track Club, held at the Flora Duffy Stadium.
More than 650 boys and girls, aged 4 to 15, took part in the popular annual event, which saw schools competing for cash prizes, courtesy of Skyport.
The prizes were awarded to the private and public schools – from pre-school through high school – with the highest participation rates.
Among the winning schools were Lagoon Park Pre-School, West Pembroke Primary School, Whitney Institute Middle School, CedarBridge Academy, Saltus Foundation Year, Saltus Primary School, Saltus Middle School, and Bermuda High School for Girls.
“The weather and atmosphere were great,” Simons told Bernews.
“The sponsors were really pleased with how the event went. It was very family orientated.”
In addition to the cash prizes, medals were awarded to the fastest runners in each age group, and trophies were presented to the first-place finishers in every category.
The Skyport Magic Mile was made possible through the support of Pacers Track Club, Security Associates, Sol Petroleum Bermuda, BermudAir, and Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice.
