Single Lane Closure In Verdmont Road
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment is reminding the motoring public that “paving works are taking place on Verdmont Road in Smith’s, near the Hermitage Road junction, and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area this evening if possible.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The single lane closure remains in effect today, 17 March 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with traffic controls managed by Ministry representatives using stop-and-go signs.
“As work continues into the evening period and during the afternoon rush hour, delays are expected in the area. Motorists are encouraged to use Middle Road or South Road as alternate routes to avoid congestion near the work site.
“The Ministry thanks the public for its patience and cooperation while these paving works are carried out.”
