Mothering Sunday Marked At St Mary’s
Mothering Sunday was observed at St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church on March 15, as part of the Fourth Sunday of Lent.
The service reflected the tradition’s roots in returning to one’s “Mother Church,” a practice that historically saw servants and apprentices given time to visit the parish of their baptism.
An address titled “Draw out of the waters – The Courage of a mother in a Volatile World” was delivered by Joanne Ball-Burgess, focusing on the role of faith and resilience in the face of modern-day challenges.
