Traffic Notice: Lane Closure On Middle Road
The Ministry of Public Works advises the public of “an emergency lane closure this evening on Middle Road, Flatt’s Hill, as paving works are carried out.”
A Government spokesperson said, “Earlier today, the road surface in the area was milled, leaving the surface exposed. As a result, paving works must be completed this evening and will extend into the evening rush hour.
Traffic Impact
“There will be a lane closure on the eastbound lane of Middle Road on Flatt’s Hill, between the BELCO substation and the North Shore Road junction, to allow paving works to be completed.
“The lane closure is expected to remain in place until at least 7:00 p.m.
“Traffic through the area will be managed by Ministry paving representatives using stop and go signs.
“Motorists should expect delays when travelling through this section of Middle Road and are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible.
Detour Routes
“Motorists travelling east are advised to consider the following routes:
“Travel along Middle Road to Store Hill, then proceed east along North Shore Road.
“From the City of Hamilton, travel along South Road to Harrington Sound Road, then continue east to avoid the affected area.
“The Ministry of Public Works apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for their patience while these necessary works are completed.
“For further information, please contact MPW Principal Highways Engineer Tina Beer-Searle at 501-3044.”
