Ministry Issues Three Road Traffic Notices
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment has issued three road traffic notices.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the motoring public of three road traffic notices affecting Middle Road at Fielder’s Lane junction in Smith’s, Ord Road in Warwick, and Mangrove Bay Road in Sandys. The notices relate to water valve works, retaining wall construction, and a community restoration ceremony, respectively.

“In Smith’s, a single-lane closure is in effect on Middle Road near Fielder’s Lane for water valve works on Thursday, 23 April 2026, and Friday, 24 April 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“Traffic control is being managed by representatives from Island Construction using stop-and-go signs, and motorists are advised to use North Shore Road, Harrington Sound Road or Verdmont Road as alternative routes.
Single lane closure for retaining wall construction [PDF]
“In Warwick, a single-lane closure will be in place in the vicinity of 7 Ord Road from Monday, 27 April 2026, to Friday, 29 May 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., to accommodate retaining wall construction works.
“Traffic control will be managed by representatives from Alternative Concrete Solutions, and motorists are advised to use Middle Road and South Road as alternative routes.
Road closure for community restoration ceremony [PDF]
“In Sandys, Mangrove Bay Road will be closed from Cambridge Road through to Somerset Road on Monday, 4 May 2026, for a community restoration ceremony.
“The closure will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with traffic controls under the direction of representatives from the Community Restoration Group. Residents will have access from Cambridge Road to enter homes on Mangrove Bay Road.
“Motorists travelling in these areas are urged to expect delays, exercise caution, and plan routes accordingly.”
