Warwick Academy Teams Compete In Florida

Warwick Football Academy teams were in action at the Easter International Cup in Orlando, Florida, which runs until tomorrow [April 5].

The under-12 side have reached the Bronze final after defeating Orlando City Soccer Club South Pre-MLS 3-1.

They face Coerfontaine in the Bronze final.

Meanwhile, the under-15 team’s competition came to a close after losing 4-0 to GGS Soccer Academy in the Silver semi-final.

The under-13 girls were defeated 1-0 by High Soccer Prospects 2013 and 2-0 by FC America 2014 Purple.

They will face GGS Soccer Academy in the Silver final.

The tournament features opposition from across the United States, including MLS academies, MLS Next sides and leading club programmes, alongside teams from Mexico, Bolivia, Colombia, Honduras, the Cayman Islands, Canada and Costa Rica.

Warwick’s under-15 boys are led by coaches Jamieko Marshall and Omar Allen, with Simon Argent as team manager, while the under-12 boys are coached by Chris Fosker and Simon Jones, with Karen Walrond as manager.

The under-13 girls are coached by Sam Peters and John Duda, with Akbar Lightbourne serving as team manager.
