Curtis & Tucker Win Comet Class Regatta

Maxwell Curtis and Wesley Tucker continued their strong start to the Comet Class season with an overall victory at the Patti Washington Memorial Regatta in St. George’s Harbour.

Sailing in an eight-boat fleet, the Bermudian pair set the pace early in the afternoon and secured the title before the final race was completed. Curtis and Tucker won each of the first three races to build an unassailable lead in the regatta standings.

With the overall result decided, the crew of Pole Position did not compete in the fourth and final race, finishing with a near-perfect score across the series.

Alan Frith and Laila Frith placed second overall with seven points after recovering from a sixth-place finish in the opening race. The pair followed with finishes of second, third and second to secure the runner-up position.

Gladwin Lambert and Simon Van De Weg also finished on seven points but placed third following a tiebreaker. Their results across the four races were second, third, second and third.

Greg Wade and his crew finished fourth overall, recording their best result in the final race to close out the regatta.
