“Tucker-Wall’s trip is being made possible through the Island Athlete Development Program [IADP], an initiative designed to give talented riders from island nations opportunities to compete and develop outside their home territories. The program focuses on helping promising athletes gain international racing exposure, access higher levels of competition, and build pathways toward professional motorsports careers.

“The Island Athlete Development Program selected Tucker-Wall as one of its first supported athletes, with the goal of helping showcase Bermudian motocross talent on a global stage. Supporters of the program say the initiative aims to ensure that riders from smaller island communities have the same opportunities to pursue competitive racing as those from larger countries.

“Fox Raceway, located in Pala, California, hosts one of the rounds of the prestigious AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Amateur Day, held immediately prior to the professional national race, allows up-and-coming riders to compete on the same track used by the world’s top motocross athletes. For Tucker-Wall, the event represents both a challenge and an opportunity to measure himself against riders from across North America.

“The young Bermudian rider has already been making a name for himself locally. In recent racing in Bermuda, Tucker-Wall has been among the competitive riders in the youth motocross classes, including a strong showing in the 85cc division during a Bermuda Motocross Association race day.

“Through the Island Athlete Development Program, organizers and supporters have been working to provide resources, sponsorship opportunities, and logistical support to help make the trip possible. The initiative is built around the idea of “islanders supporting islanders,” encouraging community backing to help riders reach higher levels of competition.

“Program organizers believe that sending riders like Tucker-Wall overseas can play an important role in developing motocross in Bermuda and other island nations. Exposure to international events allows young riders to gain experience on larger tracks, compete against deeper fields, and bring that knowledge back to their local racing communities.

“When the gate drops at Fox Raceway in May, Tucker-Wall will not only be racing for himself but also representing Bermuda and the growing effort to elevate island-based motorsports through the Island Athlete Development Program.

“For Bermudian motocross fans, it will be a moment of pride to see one of their own lining up on an American national-level track, taking another step forward for the island’s presence in international motorsports.”
