A spokesperson said, “Today Deloitte announced leadership changes within its operations covering Bermuda and the Caribbean Region. Long-time regional Chief Executive Officer and Bermuda Office Managing Partner John Johnston will retire, and Anna Burns will assume the role of regional CEO as of June 1, 2026. The Bermuda practice will be led by Stephen Kuzyk, who assumed the role of Bermuda Office Managing Partner on January 1, 2026.
“Johnston’s career at Deloitte spanned 39 years, including two years with Deloitte Italy. He served clients in the insurance and reinsurance industry across the firm’s service offerings and became regional CEO in 2014. Under his leadership, Deloitte diversified its business offerings, built scale in Bermuda and across the Caribbean region, and built a strong culture of quality, service excellence and high performance.”
Reflecting on the Bermuda market, Mr. Johnston commented “The growth and innovation in the insurance and reinsurance industry over the past four decades have been truly exceptional and I feel extremely lucky to have spent my professional career in such a dynamic and exciting period. I’m very proud of the way that generations of professionals at Deloitte have supported our clients, the jurisdiction itself and the entire Bermuda community. I’m excited about the future for Bermuda and know that Deloitte is in capable hands with Anna and Stephen. I have no doubt that the firm will continue to play a key role in Bermuda’s success and prosperity”.
On his broader regional role, Johnston said: “It has been a huge privilege to serve as regional CEO, and to see our people and businesses thrive across the many geographies in which we operate. The markets, economies and opportunities are diverse, but our shared high-performance culture is pervasive and has brought solutions and value to our clients, communities and other stakeholders across the entire region.”
The spokesperson said, “Anna Burns brings deep client service experience and a strong focus on people, quality, and growth. Her mandate as regional CEO will be to lead the execution of Deloitte’s strategy across the region, working closely with her leadership teams to support clients as they navigate a rapidly evolving business environment.”
Ms. Burns stated: “I’m honored to be appointed CEO of our regional firm. Our clients are navigating increasing complexity and change, and our priority will be to deliver the highest quality work while continuing to invest in our people and multidisciplinary capabilities. I look forward to building on the strong foundation John has established and to working with our teams across the region to help clients create sustainable growth and lasting impact.”
The spokesperson said, “Stephen Kuzyk will be responsible for leading the Bermuda practice and strengthening relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the broader community.”
Mr. Kuzyk said: “Bermuda is a distinctive market with a strong record of innovation and global connectivity, and I’m pleased to step into the role of Bermuda Office Managing Partner. My focus will be on supporting our clients with the breadth of Deloitte’s capabilities and continuing to foster an inclusive, high-performing culture. I’m excited to work with our talented teams and with stakeholders across Bermuda as we deliver meaningful outcomes.”
