Gibbs Hill Parking Lot Closed Temporarily
The Department of Marine and Ports advised that the parking lot at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse will be inaccessible from June 20 to 22 to accommodate crane operations for the reinstallation of the lighthouse’s birdcage and radar.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Marine and Ports advises the public that the parking lot at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse will be temporarily inaccessible from Saturday, 20 June 2026, until Monday, 22 June 2026, reopening on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.
“The closure is necessary to facilitate crane operations associated with the reinstallation of the birdcage and radar at the top of the lighthouse. The crane will occupy the parking lot and the area normally used as a turnaround for tour buses, making the site inaccessible to vehicles during this period.
“Members of the public and tour operators are asked to make alternative arrangements and allow additional time when visiting the area.
“The Department of Marine and Ports thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while these essential works are carried out.”
