Amateur Stroke Play Championship Underway
Eric West took the lead in the Men’s Championship Division, and Sienna Mosquera extended her advantage in the Ladies Championship Division during the second round of the Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Port Royal Golf Course.
In the Men’s Championship Division, West shot a 1-under-par 70 to move into first place with an even-par total for the tournament. First-round co-leader Alec Barker is in second place, one stroke behind West, after shooting a second-round 72. Defending champion and first-round co-leader Jarryd Dillas dropped to five-over-par overall after carding a 76.
Mosquera shot a 4-under-par 67 to bring her tournament total to 3-under-par and extend her lead in the Ladies Championship Division. Tracy Burgess is in second place at 14-over-par after shooting a second-round 75, and Kim Botelho is in third place at 22-over-par after carding an 82.
In the Senior Men’s Division, Robert Vallis extended his lead by shooting a 1-under-par 70, bringing his tournament total to 1-over-par. Gary Burnet is in second place at 13-over-par after carding a 76, and Arthur Jones is in third place at 14-over-par following a round of 74.
Richard Marriott holds a one-stroke lead in the Men’s First Flight after opening with a 4-over-par 75. Tom Loomes follows in second place with a 76, while Jonathan James and Paul Egan are tied for third place after both carding a 77.
In the Senior Ladies Division, Burgess leads at 14-over-par, followed by Linda Down in second place at 29-over-par and Tracy Nash in third place at 31-over-par.
