Brianna Ray Supports Girls Festival
The Girls Play Cricket Too initiative launched with a festival at Warwick Academy on Saturday [June 13], featuring skills development activities and fun mini games for girls aged 7 to 11.
Brianna Ray, Bermuda’s leading women’s cricketer, attended the event, offering guidance and answering questions from participants.
“A huge thanks to the sponsors and coaches who made today’s Girls Play Cricket Too Festival a success!” coach Richard Todd said.
“Shouts out to Vantage, Ernest & Young & the Bermuda Cricket Board for their support.
“With 50 participants registered and 40-plus in attendance, the day was a success in bringing together girls aged 7-11 years for a day of skills and drills and fun mini games.
“We hope this is just a start, and the goal is to engage these young girls in teams participating in a girls league next year.
“Massive thanks to coaches Chantal Oosthuizen, Karen Hotchkin, Zoelita McIntosh, Arnold Manders, Courtney Trott, Richard Todd and the inspirational headliner Brianna Ray for their time and efforts to work with the girls today.
“Thanks to organiser Kellie Smith for helping pull this all together and ensuring that everything was in place for this start of more to come from Girls Play Cricket Too!
“To the additional volunteers who helped – your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.”
