Pay Transparency Town Hall Set For Thursday
The Ministry of Economy and Labour is reminding the public to attend a town hall meeting on the proposed Pay Transparency Legislation tomorrow evening [June 25], where residents can learn about the proposals and ask questions.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Economy and Labour reminds the public to attend the upcoming town hall meeting on the proposed Pay Transparency Legislation, to be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul AME Centennial Hall in Hamilton.
“The meeting is part of the Government’s public consultation on proposed legislation aimed at promoting greater transparency in workplace pay practices and helping address wage disparities. The proposal includes measures such as salary ranges in job advertisements, restrictions on salary history inquiries during recruitment, employee access to pay information, and protections for workers who raise concerns about pay equity.
“The session hosted by the Minister of Economy and Labour, the Hon. Jason Hayward, JP, MP, will also feature presentations from CURB Executive Director Stacey-Lee Williams and Human Rights Commission Executive Officer Lisa Reed.”
Minister Hayward said: “This consultation is an opportunity for employees, employers, and members of the public to learn more about the proposed legislation and share their views. We want to hear directly from the community as we consider measures that promote fairness, transparency, and accountability in Bermuda’s workplaces. I encourage anyone with an interest in this issue to attend and participate in the discussion.”
A Government spokesperson added, “Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and engage directly with the presenters.
“Members of the public, employers, employees, business owners, human resource professionals, and other stakeholders are urged to attend.
“To review the proposal and submit feedback on the consultation paper, visit forum.gov.bm.”
