The Sandys Spartans and the Pembroke Panthers secured victories on the second day of the Bermuda Smash Invitational at the National Sports Centre North Field, which was shortened by rain.

Sandys Spartans vs. Smith Sixers

The Sandys Spartans defeated the Smith Sixers by seven wickets in a rain-delayed match shortened to 13 overs per side at the National Sports Centre North Field.

Batting first, the Smith Sixers scored 145 runs for the loss of four wickets. Brett Hampton and Anthony Mosca each scored 51 runs. Bermudian cricketer Delray Rawlins took two wickets for 37 runs in his three overs for the Spartans.

In reply, the Sandys Spartans reached 150 runs for the loss of three wickets with three balls remaining in the innings. Rawlins led the batting performance with 81 runs. Shaquan Glasgow took one wicket for 25 runs for the Sixers.

Pembroke Panthers vs. Hamilton Parish Hurricanes

The Pembroke Panthers secured a 54-run victory over the defending champion Hamilton Parish Hurricanes in the second match of the day.

The Panthers batted first and were bowled out for 130 runs in 19 overs. Dominic Sabir top-scored for the team with 41 runs, while Marcus Bean took three wickets for 34 runs for the Hurricanes.

The Hamilton Parish Hurricanes were bowled out for 76 runs in 17.4 overs in response. Fabian Allen took five wickets for two runs in his four overs to restrict the Hurricanes’ scoring and dismiss the lineup.
