Team Hayward is inviting people to a Pembroke Branches C16– C21 meet & greet on Tuesday, June 16th the Pembroke Sunday School Hall.

A spokesperson said, “Team Hayward is extending an invitation to a meet & greet event to the Branch Chairs, Executives, members and those seeking to be members of Pembroke Branches C16, 17, 18, 19, 20 & 21 to be held on Tuesday, June 16th 6pm at the Pembroke Sunday School Hall.

“We will like to hear your concern and suggestions for the parish of Pembroke and Bermuda as a whole.

“Additionally, we will be sharing our vision and plans for a stronger Progressive Labour Party and a better Bermuda for all. Please feel free to reach out to us at mpjasonhayward@gmail.com or via WhatsApp 538-1717. Follow the Team Hayward – Building Together – Ready To Lead channel on WhatsApp. Food and refreshments will be available. We look forward to engaging with you as we continue to build together.”

Jason Hayward is running for the PLP party’s leadership position, which will become available as David Burt will not be standing for re-election as Party Leader later this year. As the PLP currently forms the Government of Bermuda, the PLP Leader becomes the Premier, and the PLP Leadership election takes place every four years and the next one is scheduled to be held in October of this year. The only other candidate currently on the running for the position is PLP MP Curtis Dickinson.

  1. Think! says:

I am concerned whether the delegates recognize that the voters supporting the PLP specifically desire Curtis as the next leader. Should Jason be selected, the PLP will likely lose the next election due to a lack of voter turnout.

    • watching says:

On what are you basing this?
If they are true PLP supporters they will vote PLP whether it is Jason or Curtis.
If they choose to abandon ship regardless who wins, then they are not really PLP supporters, they are either Jason or Curtis supporters.
      And that is fine.

      Thanks for saying it!
There are ALOT of us sharing the same concern.

      • watching says:

I wonder if those of you saying this actually know the two candidates and their stances on the major issues? Have you talked to both? They may be very similar on some and diametrically opposed on others. They may also surprise you who sits where on what issue.
