Bermuda cricket action over the weekend saw Southampton Rangers, Bailey’s Bay, PHC, and Flatts Victoria secure victories in their respective Premier and First Division matches.
Premier Division
Southampton Rangers 300 St. George’s Cricket Club 258
Southampton Rangers secured a 42-run victory over St. George’s Cricket Club at the Southampton Oval following a high-scoring Premier Division fixture.
After opting to bat first, Southampton Rangers reached a total of 300, supported by a 166-run opening partnership. Onias Bascome scored 95 runs off 55 deliveries, including 11 boundaries and five sixes, while Delray Rawlins added 66 runs off 61 balls.
Keegan Jones recorded bowling figures of 4-50 from 10 overs for St. George’s.
In reply, St. George’s were bowled out for 258. Anandu Anil finished unbeaten on 49 runs off 22 balls, while Rawlins took 4-52 to complete the win for the host team.
Baileys Bay 161 Somerset Cricket Club 94
Bailey’s Bay defended a modest target at Sea Breeze Oval to defeat Somerset Cricket Club by 67 runs.
Batting first, Bailey’s Bay was dismissed for 161, with Kyle Hodsoll top-scoring with 30 runs. Janeiro Tucker finished with bowling figures of 3-14 from 8.3 overs for Somerset.
Somerset Cricket Club was subsequently bowled out for 94 in its run chase. Amari Ebbin led Somerset with 27 runs, while Dennico Hollis took 3-23 for Bailey’s Bay.
First Division
Somerset Bridge 240 PHC 241/5
PHC completed a five-wicket run chase to defeat Somerset Bridge at PHC Stadium.
Batting first, Somerset Bridge compiled 240 runs, led by Adrian Burrows’ 64 off 72 balls. Charles Trott recorded figures of 4-42 from 10 overs for PHC.
In response, Trott scored 59 runs off 46 balls and Davin Dill contributed 63 runs off 73 balls as PHC reached 241-5. Joshua Gilbert took 3-58 for Somerset Bridge.
Devonshire Recreation Club 184 Flatts Victoria 186/6
Flatts Victoria successfully chased down Devonshire Recreation Club’s total of 184 to secure a four-wicket victory.
After fielding first, Flatts restricted Devonshire to 184. Freeman Lema top-scored for Devonshire with 39 runs, while Jamin Furbert took 3-36 for Flatts.
Flatts Victoria reached 186-6 to close out the match, led by Kijuan Franks’ 67 runs off 46 balls and an unbeaten 57 from Treadwell Gibbons. Jahzarde Samuels took 2-51 for Devonshire Recreation Club.
