Leilanni Nesbeth Joins Italian Football Team
Bermudian footballer Leilanni Nesbeth has joined the Italian football team F.C. Como Women.
The club made the announcement today saying, “From Bermuda to England, via the United States, and now to Italy: Leilanni Nesbeth is ready to bring her energy, passion, and personality to Como Women.”
The club said that she has signed a contract until June 30th, 2028, and noted that “Nesbeth arrived in Italy following an international development pathway that saw her grow as a player across Bermuda, England and the United States, gaining experience at the highest levels of youth and professional football.”

The club added, “Raised on St. David’s Island, Bermuda, Nesbeth continued her football development at Bede’s Senior School in England, where she also spent the 2017/18 season with Brighton & Hove Albion. She then moved to the United States to join the Florida State Seminoles, helping the team win two NCAA National Championships in 2021 and 2023 while playing both as a forward and a midfielder.
“During her collegiate career, she also helped her team win four ACC Conference championships and was named to the All-ACC Second Team on two occasions. In 2024, Nesbeth was selected by the Chicago Red Stars with the 10th overall pick in the NWSL Draft and signed a three-year contract with the club. Following the club’s rebrand to Chicago Stars FC, she remained with the team for two and a half seasons before mutually agreeing to terminate her contract on 30 June 2026.
“On the international stage, Nesbeth has represented Bermuda at youth level, competing in the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship and the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship. She made her senior debut for the Bermuda Women’s National Team during the qualifiers for the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship.”
