Age Concern Launches Membership Drive
Age Concern Bermuda has launched a new membership drive aimed at helping residents aged 50 and over access savings, support, education and community resources.
A spokesperson said, “As households across Bermuda continue to navigate the rising cost of everyday living, Age Concern Bermuda is launching a new membership drive aimed at helping residents aged 50 and over make their money go further through practical savings, education, support and community resources. The campaign will highlight the financial and practical benefits available through an Age Concern membership, including discounts offered by participating businesses across Bermuda.
“Age Concern members currently save an average of approximately $450 per year through membership benefits, demonstrating how regularly using available discounts can translate into meaningful savings over the course of a year. The campaign comes at a time when affordability remains a significant national priority.
“The Government of Bermuda’s 2026/27 Budget includes measures specifically intended to reduce everyday expenses and provide cost-of-living relief, while the Affordable Bermuda Agenda has introduced additional initiatives focused on making essential goods more affordable. Age Concern Bermuda believes community organizations and local businesses also have an important role to play in helping residents find practical ways to manage household expenses.
“While savings are at the centre of the new campaign, Age Concern is emphasizing that membership provides value beyond financial discounts. Members become part of a community dedicated to helping Bermuda residents navigate ageing with greater knowledge, confidence and connection. Membership benefits include access to educational opportunities and information on issues such as health and wellness, financial literacy, legal matters and other topics relevant to adults aged 50 and over.
“Age Concern also provides advocacy, information, guidance and referral services, helping connect members and the wider community with resources when they need support. Through the campaign, the organization hopes to challenge the perception that Age Concern is only relevant when someone reaches their senior years or experiences a crisis. Instead, membership provides an opportunity for residents to begin accessing savings, information and resources from age 50, while becoming part of an organization that will continue to advocate for them as their needs evolve.”

The spokesperson said, “Age Concern believes the current economic environment makes it increasingly important for residents to understand and take advantage of existing opportunities to save. The organization is therefore encouraging current members to use their membership benefits regularly, while inviting eligible residents who have not yet joined to learn more about the savings, resources and support available through membership.”
