BILTIR Hosts Student & Leaders Roundtable
BILTIR hosted a roundtable connecting interns with Premier David Burt, Governor Andrew Murdoch, and U.S. Consul General Antoinette Hurtado to discuss Bermuda’s future and global role.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers [BILTIR] recently hosted an interactive round table discussion connecting interns from its member companies with His Excellency Andrew Murdoch, CMG CVO, Governor of Bermuda; David Burt, Premier of Bermuda; and Antoinette Hurtado, U.S. Consul General to Bermuda.
“Titled “Bermuda on the Global Stage,” the event gave interns the opportunity to engage directly with three leaders whose roles help shape Bermuda’s economy and international relationships. Through rotating small-group discussions moderated by BILTIR staff, participants explored topics ranging from workforce development and public service to innovation, global collaboration, and Bermuda’s competitive position as an international business center.”
“At BILTIR, we’re constantly looking for new ways to engage the next generation of Bermudian talent,” said Suzanne Williams, CEO of BILTIR. “With these roundtable discussions, we’ve provided the interns a unique experience, giving them direct access to the leaders shaping Bermuda’s future and highlighting the wealth of opportunities available within the jurisdiction.”
The spokesperson said, “The interactive format encouraged open dialogue, allowing interns to ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain firsthand perspectives on the opportunities influencing Bermuda’s future and its role in the global [re]insurance market.
“The round table is part of BILTIR’s broader summer intern program, which provided current university students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Bermuda’s long-term [re]insurance sector and hone the skills they will need to further launch their careers. By creating opportunities for students and young professionals to engage with leaders across regulation and the [re]insurance industry, BILTIR is reinforcing its commitment to developing local talent and strengthening the pipeline of future leaders for Bermuda’s long-term insurance and reinsurance sector.”
