Ministry Holds Town Hall On Housing Plans
The Ministry of Housing and Municipalities extended their thanks to members of the public for attending the town hall meeting held on August 20 at St. Paul AME Centennial Hall to discuss the proposed Phase 2 affordable housing projects.
A Government spokesperson said, “The meeting provided an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to hear about the proposed developments and share their questions and feedback.”
Minister of Housing and Municipalities Zane DeSilva said, “I thank everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. The feedback received is important as we continue to refine these projects and work towards delivering quality, affordable housing that meets the needs of our community.”
A Government spokesperson added, “The Ministry will now continue with site investigations, technical assessments and design development to inform the next phase of the work. These efforts will help to further assess and refine the proposed developments across the identified sites.
“The definitive plans for this second phase of affordable housing development will be announced no later than the end of September. The Ministry thanks the public for its continued interest and engagement as this important work progresses.”

Every other Constituency gets Town Hall meetings besides C3. Must be something about Mohawks that DeSilva and Foggo are uneasy with. Rather then show respect to them, you plop your microphones and cameras on a whole slew of cameras and next thing, we have been given a communication tower that can,t be finished due to lack of available a larger craner. There is one available we have been told only to find out, it is to wide to come across the causeway. Mohawks feel the project should be closed down n dismantled. Now for Southside, another kick in our pride for St. David’s. The proposed grocery store (note grocery store, not supermarket with a pharmacy and an ATM, is to be built on property which has been allowed to have many, many boats, a wonderful collection of antique cars, mountains of computers, ac’s and other which are piled high after having copper and other removed and supposedly shipped off Island. To make matters worse, these businesses are to be off sites by end of Septemb.
er. What kind of landlord does this???? What what caring, compassionate, forward thinking government does this to it’s Community. Oh, that is no concern for Government, once again, they have sold another Community out. Next is supposedly housing around corner of the now dilapidated Clearwater Middle School. PLP, you have caused your voters to have to rethink your motives re St. David’s and her people. One more voter crossing the line.
