Cricket: St George’s Win After Somerset Forfeit
St George’s Cricket Club were crowned Premier Division 40-Over Knockout Cup champions after Somerset Cricket Club were unable to field a team for Sunday’s final at Wellington Oval.
The match between the two Cup Match rivals was scheduled to get underway in the morning, but no play took place after Somerset were unable to field a side.
As a result, St George’s were awarded the match by forfeit and claimed the Knockout Cup title without a ball being bowled.
