Bermuda has been named the #1 island in the Caribbean and Atlantic in the Condé Nast Traveler 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, the fourth consecutive year the island has taken the top spot.

A BTA spokesperson said, “Bermuda earned a score of 95.24, its highest in four years of consecutive wins and the latest in a year-over-year rise in reader ratings. More than 750,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers shared their views on recent travel in this year’s survey, one of the travel industry’s longest running and most closely watched measures of guest satisfaction. The results were announced on cntraveler.com and will feature in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler US.

“Bermuda first claimed the #1 spot in 2023 and has held it every year since. Its score has risen consistently, from 90.14 in 2023 to 91.22 in 2024, 94.82 in 2025 and 95.24 in 2026. The island’s lead over the second-ranked destination has also widened, from 0.23 points ahead of the British Virgin Islands in 2025 to 1.07 points ahead of St. Lucia this year. The results reflect not only four consecutive years at the top, but increasingly strong ratings from travellers over that period.

“Four years at the top, with our scores rising every year, tells us something important: this isn’t a one-off moment, it’s the experience Bermuda delivers, year after year,” said Jan Hutton, Chief Executive Officer of the Bermuda Tourism Authority. “Condé Nast Traveler readers are some of the most well-travelled people in the world, and they keep choosing Bermuda. That credit belongs to the people of this island: the hoteliers, restaurateurs, guides, taxi drivers, artists and every Bermudian who makes a visitor feel at home. Our job now is to build on it.”

This spokesperson added, “The recognition reflects what keeps travellers coming back: pink-sand beaches and turquoise water, a culinary scene that runs from fish chowder and fish sandwiches to fine dining, more than 400 years of history in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. George’s, and a culture of warmth that visitors talk about long after they leave. Recent highlights include new and refreshed hotels, a growing calendar of culinary and cultural events, and Bermuda’s continued standing as one of the world’s great dive destinations.

“The award is decided entirely by readers. Throughout the voting window, the BTA, its agency partners and the wider tourism community encouraged past visitors to share their experiences through BTA social channels, newsletters and GoToBermuda.com.

“Recognition like this, voted on by more than 750,000 discerning travellers, is the most credible endorsement a destination can earn,” added Hutton. “It tells our partners, airlines and travel advisors that Bermuda delivers, and it gives us a powerful story to take into our key markets this season. We’ll be putting this award to work across our marketing so that more travellers discover what our repeat visitors already know.”
