Daley Wins 200m Butterfly In Calgary
Bermudian swimmer Elijah Daley won the men’s 200m butterfly on the second day of the Dino Invitational at the University of Calgary Aquatic Centre in Canada.
Representing the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, Daley finished in 1:59.66 on Sunday [October 25], becoming the only swimmer in the short course event to finish under two minutes.
The 20-year-old also helped Toronto’s B team place third in the men’s 400m medley relay. Swimming the butterfly leg, Daley joined Ben Winterborn, Elliott Angkriwan and Paul Yang as the quartet recorded a time of 3:41.88.
His butterfly victory followed an opening-day win in the 200m individual medley and a first-place finish as part of Toronto’s 200m medley relay team.
Toronto’s men won on both days of the meet, which featured swimmers from the Calgary Dinos and Lethbridge Pronghorns.
